President & Co-Founder
As President of CGS Mr. Williams has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company as well as specific responsibility for new business development and services delivery. Mr. Williams develops the strategies and tactics necessary to identify, prosecute and capture new business revenue lines such as Identity Management, cloud computing and other Government initiatives.
Mr. Williams is the architect of the CGS long term GSA Schedule strategy that is focused on developing multiple Schedule Contracts (84-Security, 70-IT, 65VA-Healthcare, etc.), without which CGS could not bid on the cloud computing IaaS BPA. In furtherance of this strategy, Mr. Williams actively directs the CGS Channel Partner Program that is adding new manufacturing partners and their products to CGS’s rapidly expanding portfolio of GSA Schedule Contract offerings.
Prior to co-founding CGS, Mr. Williams was President of A&T Systems, Inc, (Silver Spring, MD) a Federal IT/Telecommunications solutions company, founded in 1984. At the time he joined A&T as Vice President of Business Development in 1997, A&T Systems had annual revenues of approximately $6M. Under his marketing leadership, A&T began a strong and profitable ascent, as the company’s revenues climbed to approximately $40M by year end 2002. Mr. Williams was subsequently promoted to President in 2003, with full P&L responsibility. Over the next two years the Company grew to more than $50 million in FY 2003 and $60+ million in FY 2004.
Noteworthy contributions while at A&T include the development and execution of a plan to grow the business by 25% per year for five years. Actual growth percentages exceeded 50% per year during the period of plan implementation. Mr. Williams directed winning sales and marketing efforts resulting in over $30 billion in new prime contract awards for A&T Systems and more than $300M in new Task Order back log awards.
Prior to A&T, Mr. Williams served as a sales executive with Sytel, Inc., Pulsar Data Systems and Computer Associates, Intl. At each establishment, Mr. Williams was recognized for having exceeded his assigned sales quota each year. Mr. Williams is a Vietnam veteran who served eight years on active duty in the U.S. Army and four years in the Army National Guard with various assignments worldwide.
